(More customer reviews)I owned the 1st Generation Vado and I was pleased with it - it was light and portable. Granted, these days most of the Digital Cameras do have a video function as well the Vado made it easy. On top of that, it has a neat little interface where it lets you share that video on YouTube (if you're into that sort of things).
The Vado 3G, however, REALLY polished things up. For someone who was used to the quality of the original Vado (for those of you who don't own one, it's not bad - but to be honest it looks slightly better than a video you take with an average webcam) the quality of the video for the 3G model was absolutely stunning. It was, quite literally, "picture-clear" - and it even comes with an HDMI cable so you can show these video using TVs or monitors that have HDMI inputs.
It's slightly bigger than the original Vado but for this quality improvement, I think it's worth it.
