(More customer reviews)I had my doubts about this case, but there really isn't a good selection of cases that are listed specifically to fit the Fujifilm F300 / F500 / F550, and I wanted to have something that would offer solid protection. I'll be shopping for a better-designed, better-fitting case, and this is why:
1. Velcro straps are worse than useless, they actually cause problems. If you put the camera in the correct way, the velcro straps would attach right over the lens area. I'm not comfortable putting any kind of extra pressure on that area, and the straps don't even go the whole way around the F550EXR -- so I'd have had possible exposed velcro pressed up against the delicate retracting lens cover. So I cut them out.
2. Accessory pocket -- the inner pocket is just a meshed-off area with no way to secure it shut, not even gathered at the opening, just wide open. I'm not happy about my extra battery just rattling around in there. By putting the camera in upside down, the raised lens area does tend to restrict the battery to its pocket, but I'm really not happy having to use my camera as a means of securing things inside its case.
3. The "memory foam" is really hard (or really thin) and doesn't cushion the camera in a way that makes me feel good about putting my camera in there.
4. The "hard shell" design is virtually useless due to the flexible fabric area of the zipper -- meaning it's two hard shells attached by a flexible middle that allows the case to squash the camera if any pressure is put on it.
The only thing this case is good for, is that it's somewhat better than nothing, and it'll have to do while I shop for a proper case that wasn't designed so badly for this camera. I have another Roo Case that's quite good for the Fuji it was listed for, I'm not sure why they did such a horrible job with this one.
